View from Hikshari Trail

Snapped this at one end of a former crossing over the water where Elk River meets Humboldt Bay. I liked the pattern on the closest wooden pier, and the colors; contrasting black, greens and grays.

The Hikshari trail is Eureka’s newest section of waterfront trail; open for bikers, hikers, and dog walkers.  http://lostcoastoutpost.com/2013/mar/2/come-walk-new-trail-bay/  for more information.

Slow month around here..

Not many photos posted this month.. between traveling to Texas, and midterms, and working full-time; I’ve yet to find time to properly do write-ups on so many wonderful photos I have to share.  Here’s a sleepy Mandrill coming out into the sun at the Dallas Zoo.

I’ll be featuring more photos from this excursion to the Dallas Zoo in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for dropping by! and remember; let me know if you use any of these images so i can credit you in pages linked.

These are a few of many animals from the Dallas Zoo that will be featured here in the coming weeks.  Animals are one of my favorite subjects to photograph, however a lot of luck comes into play in getting the perfect timing.  My current technique is to shoot as many photos as possible in rapid succession and hope it improves my chances.
