Cardio Promo on YouTube

I’ve been working with several GoPro cameras to create content for YouTube lately.  I lack a fancy sponsorship right now however, so i have three different generation GoPro cameras which makes syncing the footage quality a bit tricky.  My dream one day is to have a sweet multi-cam GoPro rig like this one but for now creativity is the key.

This was a really quick clip for a 10k run that I do with several friends.  It takes place along a peninsula of dunes with little offer of refuge from tsunamis.  In light of world events of the past decade, this has led to considerable dry humor among us runners about the necessity of being in shape to run long distances in the event of an earthquake whilst we are on the peninsula.  Taking this a bit farther, thus evolved the idea behind this promo.

Behind the Lens: Italy

This is a vacation video put together for the benefit of friends and family; loosely documenting my trip to Italy last year. This basically shows the locations appearing in numerous previous photo posts here, and it fits the “Design” category loosely since i did all of the filming for fun, and quickly edited on location.  A GoPro Hero original version was used for most of the video, while i also wielded the Nikon D5100 for a bit of video in Rome.

My apologies to those who may not be able to view the video- Youtube does not think my musical score choice fitting of the fair use designation. 😦   If you run into issues, try pasting the video url into a proxy site, such as

After Effects Tutorial Time

It’s Tutorial Time!

I am always striving to expand my comfort zone with different types of design mediums. In this case; motion graphics in Adobe After Effects CS5.

If this sort of thing is in your interests, i highly recommend checking out the folks at for a comprehensive array of After Effects tutorial projects to break your teeth on.

Here’s my result 🙂

Don’t forget the archives right here show you the history of posts here for ease to browse the photos.  Thanks for checking out the blog!

Clip art for my love

My partner in art crimes, and a frequent prey of my lens; Santina.

Clip art infused trace illustration; originally for a phone wallpaper. This is the full scale original version.

Pretty simple trace and paint technique on a windy spring day at the beach, with a little clip art added in to pull you away from reality.  I only wish the original photo was from a slightly lower angle, so as to break the light and dark background more evenly.

Promotional clip for Cypress Grove Chevre` Valentine’s Day cheese

This is a simple 9-second promotional clip for Cypress Grove Chevre’s “Amour” cheese; specially produced around Valentine’s Day. The clip was originally part of a motion graphics assignment, but ended up making the company’s Youtube page.

Very simple animation, logo color change concept. All processing done in After Effects CS5, logo work done in Illustrator. Looking back, there’s a thousand things i’d have done better/differently but for a hastily produced splash ad, its kinda catchy. I like how the clip of the goats worked out to appear she’s tugging the cheese photo into view.
